Welcome ....Listen to what the people say !!

Power supply ....

Loadshedding is on the rise for the past few months throughout the country. It is a result of the negative policies of the past government and the current government is unable to do much about the problem.

I live in Rustam, which is a big town of the Mardan district. It is badly hit by power shortage and loadshedding is observed here for almost 13 hours daily. It has made people’s lives miserable and has affected all kinds businesses. Students are its main victims because it’s end of their educational year and their exams are round the corner. They cannot prepare for the exams due to frequent power failures. I request the prime minister, the federal minister for water and power and the NWFP chief minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti (who belongs to the Mardan district) to direct WAPDA for the uninterrupted power provision to the Mardan district.                                                 (Manzoor Ali,Rustam Mardan)

Still No Bridges

The residents of the areas affected by the flood in 2006 have shown their anger by not voting for certain political parties and their candidates in the elections. Many bridges were destroyed by the devastating flood in Mardan. These have not been reconstructed in the last one and a half year. As a result the people as well as the cattle are facing enormous problems. In the cold weather one has to cross the river half submerged in water.

The locals decided not to vote those parties which were in power at the time of the flood and did not reconstruct the bridges. One such party was PML (Q) and the other was MMA. The new ANP led government is expected to come to the rescue of the people. A good learning point!
